OK! Remember this car? This is how I started the story...here is how I (we) came across this amazing car!

From a Lil' Ol' Lady
from Long Island...

While I was wrestling to get my T-Bird in order, my buddy and I used to make a hobby out of looking for excellent cars in the buylines. Hopped up Chevyīs, Fords, Corvettes, whatever we could find....and test drive them. Basically take `em out and beat the sh*$*"!t out them and then say, "gee, Iīll think about it!" How else do 17 year olds get a chance to drive these cars, right? Most of what we came across was pretty beat, (in our price range anyway) but we never really planned on finding anything that would impress us.

Until one day........

With nothing better to do one day after school, we found an ad for a GTO, and an ad for a 64 Vette. So out we went to entertain ourselves. The vette was a white convertible, kinda ratty and the freakin guy wouldnīt even let us drive it...what a joke. (Remember we were 17! If some asshole 17 yearolds came to my door and wanted to drive my car, yeah right, I might let `em!) Anyway, pissed off as we were, we were determined to go see this GTO and drive it into the ground before we returned it.

We found the house, but saw no GTO. Rang the doorbell and came face to face with a woman in her 50īs.

"Weīre here to see the car for sale?!" I said.

"Oh the car, yes thatīs my husbandīs car," she said, "Itīs in the garage...you see boys, heīs handicapped now and canīt drive anymore. We were going to give it to our daughter but, he thinks itīs just too much car for her."

Iīll never forget those words as long as I live. As she rolled up the garage door, there was this perfectly imaculate 65 GTO convertible, as you see in the picture. Stock, and clean to the bone! Our mouths fell open and dragged on the ground as we circled around it. Believe me, we were speechless. We diddnīt dare let on what we had found here. The asking price was $700!!!
