This photo (above) taken in 1972, is the first I took of a car that eventually became mine. The story is one I love to tell.
I was lucky, I had come across a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible and was cruising with class. This was a sweet car, not much on performance, even with the 390 V-8, it was
carrying around too much weight to really be fast. But it looked great. Girls loved it!! For a kid in high school, this was a nice car.
My best friend had a 62 Buick LeSabre, nothing exotic about it. But it was solid, and took us everywhere we wanted to go. The T-Bird was a
tad unreliable, stemming from an incident in the school parking lot, where a girl flagged me down one day to give her a jump. Needless to say, paying more attention to the girl, and not enough to the cables she
had crossed...you see, it was a van and the cables were coming out of the window........well you can guess what happened. SPARK..CRACKLE....BOOM....SH#@$#@TTTT!!!!!!!!
The T-Bird was never the same, electrically it was a cripple....too much wiring for me to figure out.
Now continued.....! Click on the image below to go on.........
